Finding a clean Ex-Army Maruti Suzuki Gypsy King 413 locally is getting harder. Most buyers encounter vehicles with hidden rust, mismatched engine numbers, or incomplete auction paperwork. At Jeep Club India, we evaluate project vehicles based on mechanical reality, not hype.
This listing details an Ex-Army Gypsy 413 currently available as a base for off-roading, touring, or a full custom build. Please note: "Ex-Army" or "Army Disposal" does not automatically mean the vehicle is genuine, currently road-legal, or mechanically sound. Army disposals require thorough mechanical overhauls and strict RTO compliance before hitting the road. Read the condition report below carefully.

If you visit our Peelamedu workshop to inspect this (or any) Gypsy, bring a mechanic or use our hoist to check the following:
Chassis Health: Check for deep rust, cracks, or non-factory welds, specifically near the rear shock mounts, steering box mount, and transfer case cross-member.
Drivetrain Leaks: Inspect the engine oil sump, transfer case output seals, differential pinions, and front swivel hubs for gear oil/grease leaks.
4WD Operation: Lock the free-wheeling hubs (if fitted) and test shift into 4H and 4L. Check for excessive play or clunking in the universal joints (U-joints).
VIN Matching: Physically verify that the chassis number stamped on the frame (front right wheel arch area) perfectly matches the engine block stamp and the provided disposal paperwork.
Paperwork Status: Scrutinize the auction release order, NOC (if applicable), and RTO requirements for re-registering an Army disposal vehicle in your specific state.
While our workshop is based in Coimbatore, we source, inspect, and build vehicles for 4x4 enthusiasts across Tamil Nadu and the wider South India region. Whether you need a local RC transfer and passing in TN, or plan to transport the vehicle Pan India for a home-garage build, we can guide you on the logistics and legal requirements of Army disposal paperwork.
Jeep Club India (Est. 2006) We are a specialized 4x4 modification, fabrication, and restoration facility based in Peelamedu, Coimbatore. We do not deal in fake RC books, hidden accidental damage, or inflated vehicle histories. We evaluate Gypsy body shells, chassis structures, and 4x4 drivetrains based on decades of hands-on spanner work. What you see is exactly what you get.
Is this Ex-Army Gypsy road legal right now? No. Ex-Army vehicles require RTO passing, payment of lifetime tax, and a new civilian RC book before they are legally permitted on public roads. This process must be verified by the buyer.
What is the price of this modified Maruti Gypsy 413 King for sale? Pricing is not fixed. Final cost depends entirely on the vehicle's current mechanical condition, the status of its documentation, and the scope of restoration or modification you intend to undertake with us.
Can you handle the Gypsy restoration in Tamilnadu if I buy it? Yes. From fixing chassis rust and engine overhauls to installing FRP hardtops, suspension lift kits, and custom off-road bumpers, we handle full project builds in-house at our Coimbatore facility.
Do you guarantee the engine and gearbox? No. As a raw Ex-Army disposal vehicle, the mechanicals are sold strictly as a project base. We recommend a full engine compression test and gearbox inspection prior to purchase.
