The stock plastic bumper on a Mahindra Thar looks fine when the vehicle is fresh off the showroom floor. Take it down a forest trail, over loose rocks, or through a dry riverbed even once — and you'll immediately understand why most serious Thar owners replace it within the first few months. Plastic doesn't protect. Metal does.

At JeepClub Coimbatore, bumper fabrication and fitting is one of our most requested jobs. We work out of our Peelamedu workshop, and we've fitted bumpers on Thars all across Tamil Nadu — from daily drivers in Coimbatore city to full expedition builds heading into the Western Ghats.

There are a few different directions Thar owners usually go with bumpers. The most popular right now is the Wrangler-style front bumper — that wide, flat, aggressive look with tube work, D-ring mounts, and a clean winch pocket in the center. It gives the Thar a completely different stance and it's built for actual use, not just appearance. If you're running a winch, this is the style you want — the winch sits flush, the mounting is solid, and the whole setup is rated to take the load without flexing.

For Thar Roxx owners, ADAS compatibility is the key concern. The Roxx has sensors and cameras built into the front, and a poorly designed bumper will block them or interfere with their function. We build and fit bumpers that work around the Roxx's sensor layout — protection without killing your safety tech. This is something a lot of generic fabricators in Tamil Nadu haven't figured out properly yet, and we've had customers come to us after bad fitment jobs done elsewhere.

Rear bumpers on the Thar are equally important for off-road use. A good rear bumper adds departure angle protection, gives you a solid recovery point at the back, and can be built to carry a spare wheel, a high-lift jack mount, or a jerry can holder depending on your expedition setup.

Everything we do is fabricated and fitted in-house at Peelamedu. We don't send work out. The steel we use is properly rated, the welds are done by experienced hands, and every bumper is powder coated or finished before it leaves our workshop.
